Hi All,
So, new chicken mama here. My family and I acquired a wild baby chick a few weeks ago (many wild chickens in hawaii). We’ve been raising her at home, she sleeps in a habitat we made for her that’s currently in our house. We may be spoiling her....can chickens be spoiled? One of us, my son, myself, or my husband gets her cozy in a towel and holds her until she’s asleep then puts her in her habitat for the night. I know, I know. But she’s an only chicken! We’re just about finished building the coop. We plan to get 3-4 more hens (for eggs) but have to wait until July. I’m worried about transitioning her to the coop all by herself. Is this a valid concern? Or is it silly to worry over her? I would feel better if she had a buddy. But again, we are unable to get our full flock right away.
Would love to hear input from experienced chicken people, thank you!
