HELLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!

As far as drake to duck ratio, see how things are going. If drakes are getting too rough with your ducks, separate them. The only time you should have problems with this should be around mating season. If you want to get rid of some drakes you can but if you want to keep them I think you would be able to. Maybe add more ducks next year? As far as the eggs go, if you want to have ducklings let the mothers set, if you don't wish to you can take the eggs. A mother duck is the best incubator out there!

I think all my eggs are dead. Its 6 days since the living egg chirped at me. Its also well past 28 days! So just candled again. the chirping egg now has a jagged area around the air sack, no movement and a yellowish fluid. The other egg I was unsure about has a large black mass and a tiny air sack. No movement

Now what? do I remove the eggs? My girls are still sitting on them bless

. Will taking the eggs away upset my birds? will they lay again? do my eggs sound dead to you lot ( I think I KNOW the answer to that) Sorry for all the questions but it WAS my (our) first time

.

from 11 eggs to 4 to none... my poor girls

I even ran out and bought chick crumb when the egg was moving around and squeaked at me ... I will never again count my eggs before they hatch... lesson learned

she done for the year but your ducks will start back laying again before too long. Candle to be completely sure of what you suspect and then take and dispose of the eggs clean out the nest site They may not get up right away and resume life but they will soon, and may even go broody again before season is over. I took Missy's eggs away last Wed. and removed the nest box. she still has shavings though and she still is sitting but does come out more each day, It just takes time for them to get over it.

forgot to say I waited till Missy came out to eat a bite and walk around some, I went in closed the door put the eggs in a basket covered them up and got rid of them then I went in and removed the nest box, she had no idea what had been done till she went back inside but at least this way I didn't have to work around an angry goose.
