Hi everyone! My name is Melissa, I’m a preschool teacher 
, wife to a police officer 
mom to a teen daughter 
and a 9 year old boy 
We are brand new to chickens and so excited for this new adventure!! We have always wanted chickens because they are so cute, awesome pets and bonus…eggs! I found this awesome community by asking Google questions and repeatedly being led here! We bought six chicks on Wednesday, one each of:
Olive Egger *Midnight* (named by the son)
Buff Orpington *Dolly*
Silver Laced Wyandotte *Gwen*
Light Brahma *Betty*
Easter Egger *Carl* (named by the hubby)
and what was supposed to be a Sapphire Gem, that we now think is a Sapphire Splash *Phoebe*
We have our fingers crossed they are all hens, we live in a city that doesn’t allow roos.
We also have two dogs, an old lady rescue mutt named Belle and an Aussiedoodle pup named Daisy, and two cats named Penelope and Periwinkle.
Our other hobbies include boating, camping, fishing, baseball/softball, music and just enjoying life!
