Hello! I'm new to the whole chicken farming thing. I just got my first 12 chickens on April 3rd 6 Rhode Island Reds and 6 cinnamon queens. They are now 8 weeks old...... Then about a month later I got a creme legbar and 2 silkies a white and a grey they are already egg layers, I get 2 to 3 eggs a day. I'm hoping all 6 of my RIRs are hens but still can't be sure. I also have 3 dogs a 6 year old boxer, a 2 year old great Dane and a 10 year old Lab mix, 3 cats, 2 hermit crabs, and a snake. I would have a houseful if they would let me lol. Can't wait to learn more 
So glad you joined us! Your RIR are old enough to be sexed. If you'd like you can start a new thread and post pictures of all your birds and we'd be happy to help determine genders. Good luck with your flock!
