Hi! I'm "new" to Backyard chickens" as I had some, gave them up, cancelled my backyard chicken user, and now have silkies and am back! I've had a variety of silky colors and started with eight, allowed them to mother as they do and fluctuated, now having 10. My consistent battle with both flocks has been mites. I enjoy this community and how they help each other. I enjoy chickens because it gets me outside, as I have a desk job on the computer all day.
