(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am brand new to chicken keeping! I've had my chicks for about 6 weeks now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 4 little peeps but I have heard about chicken math.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have a lavender Orrington, two silkies and a Rhode island red. (Attaching their photos for cuteness.)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching their little personalities develop.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I knit, crochet, embroider, sew, play sports and love gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Its just me and my husband and the chicks right now in Canada. I had a dog for 14 years that passed away recently, he was the absolute sweetest! (Photo attached also for cuteness)
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I follow r/chickens and r/backyardchickens on Reddit and they always reference this site, I thought it would be a good resource and a good way to connect with individuals with years of experience.
