I have, for the past few years enjoyed reading the posts and comments within this forum.
I have not become a flock keeper yet, but am beginning the preparation build in the next 4 - 6 weeks as we have recently secured our homesteading land.
I was amazed, when I began exploring, at all the lovely breeds, old and new, and how absolutely beautiful they are.
Kudos to so many of you that have GORGEOUS birds and the care and consideration you have for them, whether pets or livestock.
I look forward to learning more and to your input into my aspirations.
I hope one day to be able to offer as much advise as I will be requesting.
For experienced flock keepers, please take a look at my anticipated build ( will be posted in the coops design area) and let me know if I am on the right path. I look forward to your feedback.
Thank you all and I am glad to be in good "Backyard" company!

Thank you so much. It may take me a minute to learn to navigate, but I will get there. To everyone else, please know I will get to a reply, but I am new and learning the system. Thanks!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens think your on the right path you can add your location so your profile I see you placed it in the title Ga is a beautiful state.. we do love photos

We are clearing land and awaiting permits for our home. Being ag property, we will not need permits for our coops and such. We cannot wait to get started, but, as we all know, a plan without proper consideration will result in many regrets. I am trying my best to not make regrettable decisions. I am counting on you guys to help me out. But as we get busy, pics will come.
