I have been a farm girl my whole life. I was raised on a large horse farm, and I still have (and greatly enjoy) horses. I trail ride, rope, and sometimes show and train horses. I have only had chickens for a short time. I have had NO experience with chickens until last fall. My husband and I purchased 10 Isa Browns because we were informed that at least 1/2 of them would die before they reached laying age....wrong! I have ten beautiful, wonderful egg laying girls. I also have 2 sons, age 21 and 18, and 2 fabulous dogs (1 australian shepherd, 1 cattle dog) they are great. I have searched BYC for answers to many questions over the past few months, and I have learned lots, but still have much to learn. Thank you all for the great insight into chickens. I love them!
