My name is Betty and my husband and I got our first chicks back in April. I grew up having chickens but since we got married and live in town I didn't think we could have any. Well turns out our city allows them and now we have 7. 
We have 3 RIR and 4 what I believe are cream legbars. I'll post some pics and hopefully some of you can either confirm or deny that. We spend a lot of our time outdoors and have just recently bought some farm land. We hope to move out of town and into the country within the next few years. We have three children 2 girls and 1 boy. Our middle child has absolutely enjoyed having chickens, it's been amazing watching her interact with them. We now call her our chicken child. She spends most of her day outside finding grub worms for the chickens or feeding them sunflower seeds. I found this site through Google, by researching all about chickens. I hope to get a lot of info from all of you and also help others if I can.
