Welcome here Wes how neat that you have gotten chicks this time around. I would suggest spending lots of time with them. At 2 weeks old I started giving them their food in a wet stage got them to eat out of my hand. Also gave small amount of scrambled eggs to them. I also give them chick grit in a small dish at week 2. It's nice to get them used to your voice and relate food and treats to you.My wife and I are just now getting back to raising laying chickens, after a nearly 40 year hiatus. This time around, we are starting with day olds rather than fullly featherd birds. So, some new things to learn, but we are excited to get going. TSC here in Sierra Vista AZ has some chicks in already, so I am busy building a brooder. The floor area is 24" by 50", so should be roomy for the six chicks we are planning to purchase. I am also building a mobile chicken house, will see about posting some photos when finished.
Later, y'al.
Wes
