Hello all, joined to learn more about the hobby; although, I have been raising chickens for about 15 months. Have 2 Rhode Island Reds (one of which is a Rooster), a Golden Comet, 2 Sex Linked, 2 Game Hens, an Americana, and a mutt of some sort. Added 6 straight runs from Tractor Supply and don't really know their origins. I started out with 24 chickens in March 09 with every intention of free ranging, but a momma fox narrowed that down to 7 in a matter of a week in May of the same year. Quickly purchased 200 ft of Premier One fencing and enjoyed watching 3 of the fattest fox cubs that summer. Oh well live and learn. I have 20 acres that borders the George Washington national forest should have known the dinner bell was being rung. Some good the labrador did!! Anyway do it for my son's pleasure and we really enjoy the eggs. Looking forward to interacting with all of you. Thanks, dusky233.
