Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to the page. My name is Crystal and I live in GA (Bulloch county to be exact). I didn't plan on having chickens but my landlord bought some and "gave" each (2) of my kids one. She then let her 3 year old grandson hold and drop my daughter and she was really upset. I went to TS and told them I wanted a chicken and no I didn't want to pick it out. She brings the box up, I pay, pick up the box and was like "ummm there's more than one chick in here" she then informed me I had to buy 6 couldn't just buy 1. I was surprised but they were paid for. We built them a pen soon after and moved them out of the landlords brooder. The same day the landlord decided that chicks weren't for her so there I was with 1u chickens with a pen made for 6. I felt HORRIBLE about it but they were still fairly small and had some room. Hubby built me a nice new coop and run with enough room for way more than 17. Over a year later here I am loving and spoiling my girls and have since added 11 ducks lol now I am looking to add geese and HOPEFULLY for a little bit my life will be complete. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG] until I want more chicks, ducks and geese lol so Hello from GA everyone

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
