Hello all!

Thank you, all! I have 3 chicks right now in a brooder. In the future, they have a coop & a large yard abundantly full of bugs. They will be in a tractor for the front yard, & the side yard is fenced where they can do whatever, wherever (: We will have to enclose the side yard all around because my neighbor likes to accumulate stray kitties & its my priority to make that side yard a no-cat zone.

My brooder is a rubbermaid made on the fly. At first I used ducttape but then I realized zip ties are better & more sanitary as debris/droppings can get caught between the tape. Right now I have 2 salmon faverolle & 1 australorp. I plan on maybe getting one more australorp chick around the end of the month. Although she will be 2 weeks behind, I'll have to make sure she doesn't get trampled too much. I may or may not have to add another plastic tub since they might get a bit too crowded as they get older.
In about a week, I plan on putting in branches from my yard for perching. I think I read here that some will put in a rooted up dandilion so they can start practicing foraging & getting more bacteria in their system, thats the premise I'm going off & I have abundant dandilions too (: For now, this first week, I think its best to let their immune develop into their new environment.
