Hello Everyone!
I’m just joining today. I decided to make wise use of my COVID time and start a decade-old dream of having my very own flock of chickens. I am a mother of 3 boys who are all on their own now, so I needed to fill this nest again, lol!
I adopted 5 little chicks (3 speckled Sussexs and 2 barred rocks) a week ago. I have them in a Rubbermaid bin in my house right now... all 5 are doing great. We have Lucy, Aunt Bea, Thelma Lou, Sweet Pea and Ouiser. My sheltie Joey has officially become a chicken-herding dog. He keeps them in a nice little group when out playing and makes sure they are kissed frequently!
Anyhoo... I’m glad to be here and look forward to pestering you all with my many questions! (Just kidding!) I do have a lot to learn though!

Hello! I have to admit looking on my phone your profile pic is really small & I thought it was a pic of you & a silkie chicken. Lol.
A chicken friendly dog is a keeper!

I gave my silkie to a local guy that has hens and in return he's going to give me offspring.
