returned to hen keeping after a few years away. Coronavirus was the motivation. I’ve also got my act together and cleared out the greenhouse so veg production is back in full swing. I’ve managed to get hold of seven utility light Sussex and have them in a 4 x 3metre grass run. The girls are fortunate that I am medically retired after an industrial incident so I am home 24/7. This enables them to have a few hours free range each day whilst I am on fox patrol in the garden. My black lab helps out too she has always hated foxes! The teacup Yorkie and the moggy are completely disinterested but the Siamese definitely thinks the girls are dinner. Fortunately she is a house cat.
I am a good cook, make sourdough, fresh pasta, yoghurt and just starting making my own cheeses. I also grow my own mushrooms.
