I have been referencing this website as I am preparing to hatch, up to twenty, Jumbo Coturnix Quail. I have learned a lot from this website already and look forward expanding my knowledge of raising poultry.
I have raised ducks in the past(Cayuga, Mallards, Gold Star Hybrid, Rouens, & Swedish Blue) but wanted to raise something a little more urban friendly
I also wanted to raise a bird that is a prolific layer, quiet, and hardy. After extensive research I have decided to go with raising Coturnix Quail
The eggs are due to hatch in 11 days and I am counting them down! I currently have them in the Brisnea Mini Advanced incubator and am very pleased with the ease of use with the incubator. It certainly makes hatching poultry for the first time much less stressful!
I look forward to meeting new people who also have a love for their birds and expanding my knowledge of urban farming!
