There are several dedicated silkie threads on BYC, folks on any of them would be able to give you quite an education on the breed. If you put "Silkie threads" in the search box, they should pop up. My favorite is just called "The Silkie Thread," others seem to go by color ie, Black Silkies, Buff Silkies, Only partridge Silkies - there is also a very good thread on "Grooming silkies for show."

You might develop an interest in Showgirls also. Showgirls are a variety of silkie, that had been crossed with naked Necks (turkens). The effect is quite unique and not for everyone. Both sexes are called "showgirls,"
