Hi all-

I've been excitedly going through BYC for quite a while and now that my first chicks will be arriving soon I figured it was time to sign up.

A week from today my chicks are scheduled for delivery- 5 plymouth rocks and 5 black australorps, pullets from Cackle Hatchery. My initial brooder is all set up and I think I'm otherwise ready to get started. Yeah! Soon to construct the coop, some form of a tractor setup.

Looking forward to continuing to use BYC as a great resource and coming here with my questions!

Good luck with with your chickens. I have 20 chickens 15 Isa browns 5 Sussexs I have only lost one chicken I also had 3 pekin ducks but lost the drake to a fox now I have 2.

Congrats on the soon to be new chicks! I hope they arrive safely. Sounds like you picked some nice breeds.

While you are waiting, have you stopped by our learning center yet? Lots of great info on all the aspects of keeping chickens from building the coop, (there is a tractor section as well), raising the chicks and taking care of your adult flock...
