Hi all, Joined BYC and just uploaded some photos. I love this website and all the information we have gathered here. I have wanted chickens for many years. I grew up with them at my Grandma & Grandpa's house when I was little. I helped Grandpa feed & water the girls, clean out the coop, and gather eggs. It is such a blessing and gives us so much peace having the girls here in the backyard! We started getting eggs a few weeks ago and our Granddaughter Cami loves to get the eggs and help take care of the girls. She is 8 yrs. old and I'm hoping this is another part of the foundation we try so hard to build with her......to respect the planet earth and everything on it. We love having chickens and friends like all of you............

Welcome to BYC! That's great your granddaughter is enjoying the birds, what a fun thing to share (and good thing to teach) kids.

Welcome to BYC, John, Janie, and Cami! Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. My children loved our chickens, and now my granddaughter loves them. Good luck with your flock.
