Hi there, just wanted to say Hi, i'm in South Australia.
We recently bought 28 acres and were building our chook area when a friend asked us to take on her 7 girlies as she had rescued them from the RSPCA, so quickly knocked up a smaller predator safe area and took on our 7 girlies who i reckon are your average Isa Browns, theyve settled in really well and are laying between 2 and 5 eggs a day...so earning their keep
We've just (this week) also rescued a 5mth old rooster - no idea what he is, hes twice the size of the girlies, also settled in well although not going into the coop at night so following the advice i've gleaned from on here and am putting him in and hoping in time he'll learn what to do....he was just loose in a backyard before so i dont think he knows what to do...he's dark chocolately brown with white flecks, quite a handsome chappie if i do say so myself.
Once we complete our proper chicken area we'll be adding to the clan
Loving all the tips and advice on here.
