In the Brooder
Thank you all for your warming comments!! For my brooder, I just bought my lights and my feeders. I will be using mason jars for the food and water, with the 'adapters' for the flow. I have started on the top of it, but forgot to buy brackets to put the 1x3's together with. Right now it's in the garage, and with the door just going up and closing, the temp was at 90 degrees!! I'm not really sure if I want to put it in the basement, or bring it upstairs into our sun room yet. I believe if it was in the sun room, that I'd be able to keep a steady 95 degrees for the first week or 2, and can possibly turn one light off to accommodate for the cooling down aspect of it.
For the coop, I'm not sure where I want to put the door and the nesting boxes yet, but I have at least 6 weeks to figure it out, lol. For the outside of it, I have plenty of extra siding that I can use to make it conform to the house!!
Thank you all again for the warm welcome, and I look forward to learning a lot from you!!
