Thank you, got my first chickens last spring. Already a broody faverolle hen

That's great broodies do all the work, and you have your first homebred chicks. What kind of rooster do you have?

He is an EE. She hatched her first chick 5 days ago. 3rd today. Kinda stressful. Bator is full so I hope she continues to set. Candle her eggs last night. All alive so far. Even with her leaving the nest for a whole day when it was only 37 degrees!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. ) Faverolles are a wonderful breed; calm and gentle (natural lap pets). Our Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's (pictured in my avatar) favorite hens. She loves their colored eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
