Hi there! First time soon to be chicken owner here, and I was hoping to get some ideas about what to do when they come home. I have 3 buff pullets on order, I'm just waiting for them to turn 9 weeks before they come home. I have a coop that I bought from Tractor Supply with an attached run underneath, and I also made two different pens of different sizes to turn them out - my neighborhood doesn't allow free range (or roosters, for that matter). My question is this: when I bring them home, should I shut them up inside the coop and not let them inside the attached run for a day (so essentially, they'd be in the dark) or is it okay to let them wander inside the small attached run? Many thanks for any help!
