Good afternoon to you all,

My name is Charlotte and i live in Hertfordshire with my husband and four children and our fury friends lucious the cat, Delaney St Bernard,Tauriel the cocker spaniel, Hazel wabbet and our newest additions Nevil,Sarah,Vanessa and Jemima (ALL GIRLS)
I came across you guys as i was googling what could be wrong with one of my chooks! they are only 8 weeks and Sarah came out of her bed looking rather lethargic. I have been keeping an eye all day and when i googled Sour crop symptoms i came across this wonderful forum with suggestions on how to treat it. I put my chook upside down and was really shocked to see what came out! I done this another three times and she seems better already. Please can you tell me what are the next steps? i have given her water but no food, i see you guys taking about yogurt but i am unsure what type to give (can anyone advise?) shall i mix this with her chick crumb?
I have kept chickens since i was 12 but took a break over the last 6 years due to other commitments loving them back in my life as they bring so much joy.
Anyway thanks again and i look forward to hearing from anyone and i'm staying tuned to this awesome page!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry about your bird! :hugs

Have you read this article? https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...ntion-and-treatments-of-crop-disorders.67194/ Lots of good tips on treating sour crop.

Your bird is pretty young to be developing sour crop, not that any age bird can't have digestive issues. Does this bird free range a lot yet? Did you see any grass pieces in the vomit or in the poop? If so, could be an impaction. Also, are you feeding too many goodies? This can upset the micro flora well.

Keep us posted!
