Hello my name is Liz from the UK near Bournmouth and going through the template for induction here we go
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? we got 2 week old chicks last June 2020, we had 6 but 4 of the 6 were roosters and we had to rehome, as they started to attack my 1 year old, as well as fighting each other and it was getting worse. Then we purchased another chicken hen the same age as our 2 girls.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? we have 3 hens 2 silkies and 1 sablepoot, the sablepoot is the smallest but in charge and have one baby at 11 days old.
(3) What breeds do you have? Silkies and Sablepoot, sorry answered that in the question before
(4) What are your favourite aspects of raising backyard chickens? where do i start, I can watch my girls for hours, plus I love how they get excited each time I head towards them and how they follow me around. I love how they play, walk eat and sleep and that they give us eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I'm big into sports
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Where to start, well last year I was made redundant from my big corporate job due to covid when returning from maternity leave, as a sideline I've always taught fitness, kickboxing and nutrition as well as helping with wellbeing using massage and acupressure, so I started a business doing the lot, its been a challenge to try and build in covid times but I'm doing my best. I have 6 children that live at home with us and my husband often works away, but we have a good life and everyone is healthy so I'm happy, although a couple of our teenagers suffer from moods from time to time
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've only recently found you and wish I found you ages ago. I came across you following having some trouble with our new chick, did some searches found some answers but joined up and home to become part of your family
