Hello my name is Jane and I first got chooks 11 years ago. I did some research and decided on Australorps and certainly don’t regret my decision they are awesome!

I originally had 3 lovely Australorp chooks the oldest passed away at 10 years old.

I currently have 2 Australorp chooks that are 10 months old. I love having pet chooks - they are pets with benefits! I love watching them in the garden and chatting back and forth. They ‘help’ when I’m gardening and always want the weed I’m pulling out.

I’d recommend a book called “Made from Scratch” about being self sufficient on a small scale.

I love this website I’ve been searching it regularly since getting chooks and I thought it was about time I joined!
