Hi, I'm Youngshin from South Korea.
I've been following Joel Salatin, Gabe Brown, Richard Perkins, Greg Judy, and many more inspiring regenerative ag folks for a few years now.
And I finally started farming!
My goal is to raise multi-species livestock including cows and goats followed by chickens, ducks, a few geese, with some pigs in regenerative fashion in mountainous areas in my country.
About 70% of our land is classified as mountain and they are not at all utilized ecologically and efficiently here. So I want to demonstrate the successful small-scale farm business which supports the local community, human health, animal welfare, and the environment!
Though my dream is ginormous, my farming expertise is not quite there. I only have limited experience in raising dairy cows and meat goats from several months of WWOOFing in Ireland.
For now, I'm managing senior farmer's dairy goats and just started my own poultry flock.
My first batch of 50 broilers are 13 days old!
And soon I will introduce 100 heritage ducks for meat as well.
Layer chicks or ducklings would be introduced on Nov/Dec.
Currently, I can't afford to start anything big but will try to go slow but steady.
Good to meet y'all!!
