My name is Megan & i’m new to backyard flocks. Currently I have three 7 week old Buff Orpingtons (Dorothy, Blanche, & Pigpen) and two 6 week old Easter Eggers (Sophia and Rose), along with a German Shepherd named Ada, a three legged cat named Frank, & a Eurasian Ringed Neck Dove named Louie.
Growing up on a small farm, we had a flock of 8 hens, a rooster, & several turkeys. My mom was the primary care giver of our feathered friends, so I really don’t have a ton of experience caring for chickens other than giving love, providing food, & giving physical examinations. I am a voracious reader & have done a ton of research involving chicken care, but nothing beats years of experience. I thank you for all the expert information you will share with me
