Hi Everybody !
I am brand new to Backyard Chickens and have been a chicken owner since April 1st. I am married with 2 kids, a 9 year old boy and 12 year old girl. We are the proud new owners of 4 hens (pullets). Two black sex links, Charlotte and Rose and two gold sex links, Phoebe and Pearl. The chickens range from 6 weeks to 8 weeks old. These chickens have become the center of our lives ! The first thing the kids do in the morning is check on the girls and when the kids come home from school in the afternoons, the chickens run to meet them. Never did I imagine that these little critters would become such loved and loving family members. They crawl all over the kids and are super friendly. The youngest, Pearl, is a little spooky, but we are working on that. They have the run of the yard most of the day (while someone is at home). So glad to have this amazing resource for information and for sharing our chicken adventures.
