I live in the forested region of East Texas with my lovely wife, transplanted from Canada, and 3 kids, teen and pre-teen. One large black dog that runs free on our 50 acres chasing boogers and goblins all night and sleeping during the day . I've lived around (never out west) but have lived from Maine to Fla, including Tenn. and Mich. I ended up out of the snow zone (into the heat zone). Now we're settled into the country. I work in Healthcare, specifically as a RN in a large hospital in a critical care setting.

I have been involved raising/having chickens ... mostly for egg production since I was a teenager. This was an off an on situations depending on how settled I was, but now have had a flock for the last 14 years or so. Hope to learn and maybe be of service around the BYC community.
