Hello BYC community!

My name is Leland, I am a army Veteran and originally from NJ. I've spent the past two years helping my parents on their backyard farm of 4 acres where my mom raises sheep and my dad and I did the chickens and geese. We have flocks of Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, Lavender and Black Orpingtons. We have around 75 of our feathered friends up there that are all separated by breed so there are no mutts. We breed and sell them, well my dad does. I have just recently decided to settle in central Texas in Hill country where my wife and I will be closing on our house this friday. The best part? It already has a separate fenced in area with a coop for my own flock, which my dad will be supplying . I have lurked on this site for awhile and decided to go ahead and join. Hoping some other members here are in Texas and maybe we could trade eggs or chicks in the future! Not to mention the amount of information on this site is amazing and the community is great!
