My goodness this place is huge! Just joined, and am happy to have a looksee around and see all the other chicken aficionados here. It's almost spring in Minneapolis (got to 38 today, woo-hoo!), and so I'm getting fired up for more chicken-fun.
I've had feathered friends off and on for almost 20 years, but mainly when I was living in the exurbs. Moved into town 7 years ago, and only got around to adding hens last year, very glad I did. My girls are no "spring chickens" - they're big and beautiful and ready to rumble. Or at least to wreak havoc on all my backyard perennials and landscaping that they didn't destroy last fall. So my spring is going to be busy with figuring out and putting in place runs, infrastructure, and plantings that will allow the peaceful coexistence of my birds, vegetables, and husband. Or so I hope.
