Hello everyone! I'm Lare but you may just as easily call me by my real name, Lacey. I might be a bit on the younger side of the site here, but my family has relatively recently begun raising chickens and I couldn't be more enthralled with the birds. I never thought I would love a chicken so much! I'm the oldest of three children, along with dogs, cats, pet rats, fish, and Guinea pigs also on our little zoo.
We originally started out with 6 day old Black Australorps: one unfortunatly passed away the first night, and another ended up being a rooster that was given to a family friend. So we now have 4 lovely ladies known as Dorothy, Beatrice, Delilah, and Mabel that are the most comical things! They're a little over two months old now, since we got them on March 23rd and doing wonderfully. The site has helped so much prior to signing up, couldn't have gotten through the first batch without it!
Now we've recently purchased three days old girls who we're not yet sure of the breeds yet. I hope to be able to share their progress pictures here on BYC!
