I'm new to chickens, so looking for advide or tips you can share. I don't have my chickens yet. Still have to finishe the run.
Question: I have my coop/run set back in the trees, do I need a top over the run?

To your question: YES!! Cover the run - particularly "back in the woods"....raccoons, hawks, owls, bobcats....all can drop in for a chicken dinner!

I'm getting 3 Rhode Island gold & 3 Rhode Island bkacks. 4H chickens from a friend. Thanks for the advice
