Hello! Can anyone help me identify the breed of the chickens and the gender of the chicks? :)

This is the mother chicken! She has feathers trailing all the way down to her feet. I originally thought she was a legbar, but she doesn't have a "poof" on her head, which I've seen in other legbars. Also, she does not have blue eggs, she has cream colored eggs...

THE EGGS

She lays an egg about once a day, sometimes once every two days. They are cream colored and relatively small.

CHICK #1

This is one of the chicken's babies. It's very curious and adorable and loves to explore. Does anyone know what gender it is?

CHICK #2

Unfortunately, baby chick #2 didn't sit still long enough for me to take a picture of it. :( these were the best I could manage. Does anyone know if it is a male or female (it's a stretch, i know, but I'm still hopeful).

THe little one looks like an EE and I'm guessing that the mom is a mixed breed

Edited for spelling

I agree.

thank you!!! i didn't even take easter egger into account when looking up chicken breeds this morning... you might be right! :)

The mom kind of looks like a silkie cross with the black skin, feathered legs, and tinted eggs. How many toes does it have?

How old are the babies? It will help determine sex. The first looks pullety at this point, but depending on the age it could still need time to show the truth. For the second chick, better pictures of its face will help.

the mother chicken has 5 toes, and the babies are about 6 weeks old :)

(three normal toes and then the last toe has two nails) :)

Yep, positive silkie cross... im thinking. Could be silkie crossed with ameraucana but we havemt grown one old enough to know if th3 eggs are different

The colors on her are Silver Duckwing / Brown Leghorn though....
