My name is Matt I live in Portsmouth VA and have 7 6 week old mixed chicks me and my wife took a break for about a year as last year we had our chickens wiped out 6 hens that blessed us with the great tasting Eggs. We last our chickens by Hawks, possum and Raccoon. We have just adjusted our chicks to the outdoor coup and they have only been out for 4 days last night my wife saw a fox run across our backyard so now we are nervous. So today I will be updating security. Does anyone here know if the fox posses a risk to my Pot bellied pig he weighs about 80 pounds so I didn't think a fox would try to harm him. Well any help would be great and I love the information I have got from this website happy to be here.

There are lots of threads and articles on here for predator proofing your coop and runs

It is great having you here

Welcome to Backyard chickens. I don't think a fox would be bold enough to attack a pig that large but, a group of coyotes probably would. You may want to check out the predator forum for advice on safeguarding your animals.
