(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New to chickens - just got them about 8 weeks ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now I have 6 but we have a few suspected males.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Silver Death Layer, Silver Double Laced Barnevelder, Lavender Maran, French Copper Maran, Pearl Legbar, Swedish Flower Hen.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I am still learning we got off to a rough start :)

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Beekeeping and Creative Media Production

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Several dogs, a cat, lots of bees and now the chickens.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Been reading a lot but now we unfortunately have an injury so I finally joined which I am so happy for now we could use the advice.
 
Welcome! A lot of us started as "lurkers" seeking chicken info, then joined when we actually got (or were about to get) our first chickens. So much great information here, and so many kind and helpful people with lots of experience to share! I hope the injury to your chicken can be addressed here on BYC - did you post the specifics of the problem yet?

I am glad you joined, please let us know (on this thread) where we can follow the post regarding the injured chick. There are certain members who are more knowledgeable regarding certain issues. Perhaps we can call one over to your new thread to help you out.
