Hello Embden goose lovers

Having just joined I am excite having read almost all you threads. I have a heard of geese about twelve in all. They are not for eating but moreso lawn candy. They are pets and live constantly on my acreage, great weeders and demonstrate family t its best. Currently honking in the water working on more babies and that's alright with me. They travel in a group or pak and if the dogs get just too too close they chase them away.
The geese get along with mostly any and everything unles you either get too close to me or them. They out watch the dogs and let you know far in advance of the dogs if anyone is on the property.
They are part of the family.
Oh well, closing for now and hope to talk with youlater, sun is about to go down and each early evening I take walks in nature with the dogs ( Afghan hounds ) and the geese and it is comforting for me as is I believe for them as well.
You all take care !
SyG.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!

I was watching some Geese on Campus her at UC Davis yesterday. It was neat to see them fly a bit as a small group.
Post pictures when you can

Welcome to BYC! Glad you've joined us! Geese are wonderful creatures aren't they? We have 2 that joined our flock this spring. Both turned out to be blow but we still love them! Here are our Sunshine and Lollipop :)

G’Day from down under SyG :frow Welcome!

Aaaaw Afghan hounds! :love I used to breed, show and obedience train rough collies [gave that up a long time ago due to the ‘politics’] and if I was ever going to get into another breed it would have been Afghan’s. Time is running out now and probably will never get one but that does not stop me loving them … I would love to see some pictures of them please?

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.
