I end up with 6 hens after my tenant suddenly moved out a couple of months ago, my local hawk took care of two of them already, the remaining four are doing very well and laying about two dozen eggs per week.

One is an australop and I really like her character I am considering adding some more to the flock and I am looking forward to get some more australops I would like young adult hens if some one is selling or donating I will take them in. They will have 1 acre to be free and a 50 square ft shed to spend the night.

    Thanks in advance

Greetings from Kansas and [IMG]! Great to have you in our flock! Make sure that thread is predator proof - raccoons, bobcats, coyotes, etc., all love a chicken dinner!
As a newcomer to chickens you might want to peruse the great articles in the Learning Center in the link below - they will provide with answers to questions you didn't even know you had! [IMG] And if you want to hobnob with some fellow Lone Star poultry peeps, find the TX thread in this link:

Hi and welcome to BYC. Good luck in finding the breed that you interested in. There should be a breed thread - use the search box to help find it.

    Best wishes

G’Day from down under 90mx5texas [IMG] Welcome!

Wow! They up and left their chickens?! I am a tenant and moving shortly, not a chance I am leaving my chickens and in fact, flying them 1,300kms to their new home.

Kudos to you for taking care of the girls and [IMG] to your tenant!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
