Hello everyone. Chickens are so fun to watch

Finally, some of the chickens...
What breed are they if ya'll want to help identify? TY TY :woot

The only baby that hatched from Becky. I'm so sad the other eggs did not make it. They were fully formed. I hope to be better at incubating next time.

Here is daddy, Chicken Nugger. His brother in the background. So sad he is not here with us today. There's a lot to learn still.

And here is Ben looking good. He's such a good bird and easy to handle.

Yes. I've had her since July and she has laid about close to 30 eggs but shows no sign of sitting on them.
Well... because she's not broody. Breeders attempt to breed stock that tends not to go broody. If a chicken is broody, she's not laying eggs.
Hormones will dictate if and when she goes broody. It is not something you can encourage. You should collect the eggs daily. Otherwise, they are just going to waste.
A broody hen will go broody even on an empty nest. Or sitting on fake eggs.
I battled broodiness in 3 out of 10 hens this year. Two of them went broody twice. One could not be broken and I surrendered and allowed her to set 4 eggs. Three hatched and now I have to deal with the two cockerels I have no room for in my flock.
Sometimes the CHICKENS are the ones with chicken math issues.

I am also new at this chicken raising! Where did you get your roosters? Beautiful!:welcome
Hello. We had Chicken Nugger for a couple of years now. He was living with the in-laws at the most. And for Ben, we had him since July.
