Hi. We got our first chickens back in October. 4 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Dominique, and 1 Cochin. It's been a learning experience and I know we have much more to learn. My son, 4, is loving every minute of it and now that they are laying eggs it's much more exciting for him. Hope to explore this page and learn some more about these chickens. :)

Chickens sure are fun aren't they? I can't imagine life without them.

So pull up a roost bar and make yourself home. Welcome to our flock! :)

How fun that your son is getting to learn about chickens while he's young (I was afraid of them until I was an adult, lol). And you're going to have fun watching him with the birds!

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
