Hello, Everyone! If I were to get A Cochin would it incubate my duck eggs or no?

I don’t currently have any..... but planning on getting 6-10 in the spring Harlequins/Cayuga/Pekins/Black Swedish......

Back when I had cayugas they were willing broody birds. The Harlequins are said to brood as well.

I am hoping for a broody in my harlequin group come spring.

Personally I would skip the pekins. They are prone to leg problems as well as being much larger than your other chosen breeds since pekins are bred as meat birds.

I here that silkies are not very cold resistant, and here in can get below zero. What did you think?

I don’t have or want silkies for that reason. It just means extra work to make sure they survive the cold.

Your better off with an incubator, it's always ready to go versus a broody hen.
