I live in Texas and am looking forward raising my own chickens and having fresh eggs. I have three grand children whom are all looking forward to helping and naming them.

Welcome to BYC, Dana. Glad you decided to join our flock. Which part of Texas are you in? My wife and I were both born in the great state of Texas. Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds. My granddaughter has named most of our hens after Disney princesses.
