Hello everyone! I'm new here!

Gorgeous pictures, especially of the guinea fowl! Be sure and check out the POW (picture of the week) on the home page, and do enter!
Thank you! I'll definitely have to check out the POW. Photography is a passion of mine so I have lots of pictures of my flocks!

Hello everyone! I'm excited to now be apart of this amazing community of chicken lovers!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
No. I've been around chickens pretty much my whole life! My first true pet chickens were silkies my Dad got me when I was around 6 years old.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Roughly 100 laying hens and 5 roosters, I also raise ducks and guinea fowl!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Pearl white leghorns, red stars, white leghorns, dominiques, Easter eggers, silkies and a few barnyard mixes. My ducks are Khaki Campbell's and Pekins.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Their personality's! I also love having a fresh supply of eggs for my family and community!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, photography, fishkeeping, hunting, and I'm learning to crochet! To name a few.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live on my family's farm in Vermont. We grow roughly 5 acres of all natural vegetables. We also raise our laying hens, ducks and guinea fowl. We also raise heritage breed pigs. We have 7 amazing farm cats and a very handsome flock/family guardian dog! I also have 2 house rabbits, multiple planted aquariums, leopard geckos and a mini pig!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I found BYC a few years ago when I was looking for information on hatching chicks with a broody hen. I've been using BYC for information on chickens and other fowl for awhile now and finally decided to join the community!
Welcome from a former New Englander.
