Hello Everyone, I'm new to BYC!

Hi I'm Hen57 & am researching chicken's to see how time consuming it would be. Also, I can't lift heavy things because of my back.I 'm also thinking how much fun it would be to clean the coop in 40 degree rain.

Welcome to BYC. Chicken keeping does not have to be labor intensive. Search the forums for ideas.

I need all the help I can get. I' m going to have a neighbor build my coop from materials on hand etc... I need to find the best coop for me & to keep out the raccoons & opossoms. Thanks for the heads up!

Welcome to BYC. You might do better with a raised coop and front that opens wide - you could clean etc. maybe from a seated position so you wouldn't strain your back. You may want to check out the coop section to see if any have a similar design.
