I have been reading this forum regularly for the past few months, and everyone seems pretty knowledgable. My name is David and 3 months ago I started my flock with 5 day old baby chicks, 2 muscovy, and 1 rouen duckling. I purchased 5 more day old baby chicks 3 weeks later. I would like to believe i am learning to identify the many different breeds my wife and I hand picked, but for the life of me i cannot seem to determine hens from roosters. That or mine are not yet old enough to show the definitive telltale signs. I vent sexed my ducks at 3 weeks of age, but visibally they look the same to me too lol.

Enjoy this wonderful adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining. I'm a chicken person and don't know a lot about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. If you need to, you can post on our duck section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks, and our experts there should be able to help you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chicks do you have?

Thank you I have several varieties of chickens lol, but I do still have at least 2 of the same type that I am not sure of.
