I am AlaskaDad and I have a 3 yr old son going on 6 and a beautiful wife. We are preparing to receive 9 hens this month and I've started work on a coop. This website has been amazing and I'm looking forward to posting to some threads and showing you some pics of my coop as it progresses along. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love the photo of the moose. Thanks for posting the pic. :o) Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds. If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is loads of useful information there. Thanks - I have looked and replied to that thread. Hopefully I'll get a reply back. :)

No pics of the coop yet since I have things covered up due to bad weather but here is a pic of my nesting boxes I put together tonight.
