Hi from Kansas!

I have had chickens for about a year now. We bought our original four in a box of different breeds, so I can honestly admit that I'm not 100% sure on all of their breeds... In March we added two Black Jersey Giants to the flock (well, after they get big enough of course!), and we are excited to see how they are growing! So far it has been an awesome adventure!

I can't wait to learn more and more from this community!

! Pleased you joined our community! Always great to have another Kansan on the site - whereabouts is home?
If you haven't initiated your JGs to the your established birds, here's a link that discusses how to do that successfully.

Thank you so much for the welcome @redsoxs - it is wonderful to meet you!
I live near Derby! Thank you for the link, I will definitely read up on that before I do anything with the chicks.

Welcome!

If you want some opinions on the breed of your older chickens, this is a link to the Breed & Gender Forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
