Hey, I'm new to BYC! I have had chickens for about a year now and I love them dearly! I started with 6 Silkie bantam chicks I raised. Now I have a few more chickens, all of which I have rescued, found, or been given. I also have 5 adorable Pygmy goats and my 2 biggest babies are my standardbred horses. I love them all so much! I've always been an avid animal lover. I plan to become a veterinary technician soon.

Welcome!!! Sounds like a fun lot of critters!

We started with chickens and wound up with chickens ducks turkeys goats donkeys...etc. etc.

Hope you find lots of fun and useful stuff here!

:welcome
Thank you so much! Yes I have raised ducks before my chickens! (We have a pond I let them go in, they still come back to visit!) Ducks are harder to raise than chicks! Ducks are so water crazy and love soaking there brooder box when they're young lol!

Yes!! This is our first year with ducks and they are definitely very very very messy. I was astonished at how often I had to clean their brooder. I've got plans for a better brooder next year- hahaha! Live and learn!
Yes they are! I sat there waterer onto of a cookie cooling rack and had a Tupperware contain under it to catch the water they threw out. It helped a lot!

Main reason we didn't get ducks, swimming pool came with the house we bought. We figured it would be a total mess. Welcome to BYC from New Orleans, hope you find it informative and fun.
