Yes!
Pros:
They can protect the hens, mine will alert the hens if he sees a bird, and he has attacked hawks multiple times.

They can become aggressive
If you have too small rooster to hen ratio the rooster will over mate the hens
They crow, a lot. I do not consider this a con, I love the sound of my rooster crowing, but some people do consider this a con
